Changes of Ownership
The owner of an Eiger Operating account has passed away, what do heirs need to do?
Eiger Operating transfers ownership in accordance with state laws where the property is located. The two most common methods of transferring ownership for a deceased owner are:
- Probating the deceased owner's estate in the state where the oil and gas properties are located, or
- Recording an Affidavit of Heirship
An Affidavit of Heirship form is available in the Downloadable Resources section below. This form must be completed by a disinterested third party, someone who knew the deceased but will not benefit from the estate, and filed in the appropriate county of record.
To process a transfer, please review the applicable instructions and email PDF copies of the required documentation to eiger@ownerrelationssupport.com

Unclaimed Property
Why did I receive a due diligence letter?
Eiger Operating makes a good faith effort to return unclaimed property to rightful owners by issuing due diligence letters per each state's guidelines. If we cannot release funds due to lack of contact, we are required by law to remit those funds to the state of the owner's last known address. If you received a letter, return the form within the allotted period to avoid funds being reported to the state. You may also submit your response using the Contact Form below .
What type of unclaimed property does Eiger Operating report?
Common types include funds owed to royalty and landowners, as well as uncashed check payments to vendors.
How is unclaimed property reported?
